Set a calendar reminder for day 14.

Your trial converts to a paid subscription automatically on day 14. Add a reminder to your phone or calendar a day or two before so you have time to decide. If you'd rather not continue, cancel any time before day 14 and you won't be charged.

What you get during the trial.

From the moment you sign up, you have full access to everything IvorySafe offers. There are no locked features, no usage limits, and no separate tiers to worry about.

  • Every vault section. Family, Financial, Insurance, Professional Services, End of Life Planning, and Emergency Contacts are all available from day 1.
  • Unlimited emergency contacts. Add as many as you want, with custom waiting periods for each.
  • Document uploads. Attach the records, statements, and files your family would need.
  • Full end-to-end encryption. The same security applies to trial vaults as paid vaults. Even during your trial, your data is yours alone.

The trial isn't a stripped-down preview. It's the full product, so you can decide based on what IvorySafe actually does, not on what it might do.

How payment works.

When you signed up, you picked a plan and entered a payment method. Nothing was charged that day. Here's what happens next.

  1. Days 1 through 14. Free. Full access. No charges. You can cancel at any point without paying anything.
  2. Day 14, end of trial. Your card is automatically charged for the plan you chose at signup. If you picked monthly, that's $5.99. If you picked annual, that's $59.
  3. After day 14. Your subscription continues on whichever plan you picked, billed at the same interval, until you cancel.

You can change plans during the trial. Open Settings, go to Subscription and billing, and click Manage. That takes you to our billing partner Stripe, where you can switch between monthly and annual. The new plan kicks in when your trial ends.

How to cancel before being charged.

If you decide IvorySafe isn't right for you, cancel any time before day 14 and you won't be charged a cent.

  1. Log in to your account at platform.ivorysafe.com/login.
  2. Go to Settings, then Subscription and billing.
  3. Click Manage. This takes you to our billing partner Stripe, where you can cancel, change your plan, or update your payment method.
  4. Click Cancel subscription on the Stripe page and confirm.

The URL will change to a Stripe address when you click Manage. That's expected. We use Stripe to handle billing securely, which means your payment details never touch our servers and you have a single trusted place to manage everything related to your subscription.

Here's the part people are sometimes surprised by, in a good way: when you cancel, you keep access through the rest of your trial. If you cancel on day 5, you still have nine days to keep exploring, change your mind, or finish setting up your vault. Your card simply won't be charged on day 14. After that, your subscription ends and your data follows the standard cancellation timeline.

You can also change your mind after canceling. As long as you're still inside the trial window, head back to the Stripe management page and reactivate. Your vault is exactly where you left it.

The 14-day money-back guarantee.

If you chose the annual plan and you're charged on day 14, you still have another 14 days to change your mind. If you cancel within 14 days of being charged for an annual subscription, we'll refund you in full.

This is separate from the free trial. The free trial protects you from being charged in the first place. The money-back guarantee protects you if you got charged and then decided IvorySafe wasn't for you after all.

To request a refund, email support@ivorysafe.com within 14 days of being charged for your annual subscription. Include the email address on your account and a quick note that you'd like to cancel and request the refund. We'll cancel the subscription, process the refund to your original payment method, and reply to confirm. Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

The money-back guarantee applies to annual plans only. Monthly plans can be canceled any time through the Stripe management page, but the most recent month isn't refunded.

What if my card is declined on day 14.

Cards expire, banks block charges they think are unfamiliar, and digital wallets sometimes get out of sync. If we try to charge your card on day 14 and the payment fails, here's what happens.

  • We'll email you. You'll get a notification at the email address on your account explaining what went wrong.
  • You get a short grace period. Your access continues for a few days while we retry the payment, so a temporary issue won't lock you out of your vault.
  • You can update your card any time. Log in, go to Settings, Subscription and billing, and click Manage. You'll be taken to the Stripe management page where you can add a new card. We'll automatically retry the charge.
  • If we still can't charge you, the subscription is canceled and your data follows the standard cancellation timeline.

If you're seeing repeated failed-payment emails and you don't know why, see Updating your payment method for the most common reasons and how to fix them.

Why we ask for a card upfront.

Some people wonder why a free trial requires a credit card. There are two reasons.

It keeps the experience continuous. If IvorySafe is working for you on day 13, the last thing we want is for it to suddenly stop on day 15 because you forgot to enter payment details. Having your card on file means your vault stays available without interruption.

It reduces friction at the worst possible moment. IvorySafe is designed for crises. The whole point is that your family can access what they need without scrambling. If your trial expires and your data becomes inaccessible right when someone needs it, that defeats the entire purpose. The card-on-file model means there's never an awkward billing gap that locks your loved ones out of information they need.

If you don't want to continue, cancel before day 14 and you won't be charged. That's the part you control.

A few more things people ask.

Can I start a second free trial later?

Free trials are one per person. If you cancel and want to come back later, you can sign up for a paid subscription directly, but a second 14-day trial isn't available on the same account or payment method.

What if I want more time to evaluate?

The 14-day window is what we offer to everyone. We've found it's enough time for most people to set up the parts of their vault that matter most and decide whether IvorySafe fits their life. If you genuinely need more time and you're close to deciding, email support@ivorysafe.com and we'll see what we can do.

Will my emergency contacts know I'm on a trial?

No. Your emergency contacts are notified that you've designated them, but they don't see your billing status. From their perspective, a trial vault and a paid vault look identical.

Where can I see when my trial ends?

Log in and go to Settings, then Subscription and billing. Your trial end date is shown there. If you need more detail about billing history or upcoming charges, click Manage to open the Stripe page.

If you have a question that isn't answered here, please reach out. We'd rather hear from you before you're charged than after.

Still have questions?

If anything about your trial or billing is unclear, we'd rather answer your question now than have you find out the hard way.
